Send To Toys -- Free "Send To" Enhancement

Posted on Tuesday, July 18, 2006 at 4:26 PM by Randall

The "Send To" submenu of the menu you get when you right click a file in Windows Explorer or on the Desktop is a nifty idea. It lets you send the file you clicked on directly to the folder or program you select. Unfortunately, most people don't use this menu as often as they could because Microsoft made it a bit too hard to customize. You really need to be able to easily add the drives, folders, and programs you want to the send to menu as well as easily remove the ones you don't need -- the ones that appear when you install many programs.

Send To Toys is a free program that adds a new applet to your control panel that allows you to take control of your "Send To" menu. With Send to Toy, you can easily add the folders and programs you want and remove ones you never use. Send To Toys also lets you add some special "Send To" options: Send to Clipboard, Send to Command Prompt, Send to IE Favorites, Send to Any Folder, Send to the Run Box, and a few more.

I really like programs like this one that do a small but useful task and do it well -- and otherwise stay out of the way. Grab a copy of Send To Toys and make your "Send To" menu actually useful.
