Taskbar Shuffle -- Rearrange Programs on Your Taskbar

Posted on Thursday, May 11, 2006 at 9:12 PM by Randall

I regularly work with sets of multiple programs. When I do, I like to have those programs arranged in the same order on the taskbar every time. Until now this has required me to close all my programs and then open the set of programs I want to use in the right order. Taskbar Shuffle allows me to drag and drop taskbar buttons to arrange them the way I want them. I have tried other programs that do this (e.g. Taskbar++, Taskbar Organizer and Taskbar Commander) but always found them too cumbersome to use regularly. So far, Taskbar Shuffle seems to do the job without the hassle. Once you install the program, all you have to do is click, hold, and drag the button you want to move -- just as you do with anything else you want to move in Windows. No programs to run when you want to do it or extra keys to press. You do have to have the "Group similar taskbar buttons" option set to off for the program to work, however. No major loss in my book.
