MozBackup -- Backup Firefox and Thunderbird Profiles

When I reformated and reinstalled XP over the weekend, I needed an easy was to backup and restore my Thunderbird and Firefox profiles with all my email, boookmarks, passwords, etc. Of course, one can simply copy the directory from the Application Data area and carefully restore certain files from them to the newly created directories from the fresh install. But this is an errorprone way to do it. I decided to give MozBackup a try, despite it not working very well when my wife moved from Windows 2K to XP last year. That was months -- and probably a version or two ago.
Naturally, I backed up the full directories manually, just in case -- but I am pleased to report that MozBackup worked flawlessly, backing up and restoring my Thunderbird and Firefox data with push button ease. I made two backups of my Firefox data, one with the experimental extension backup feature on and one without. When I tried to restore, I quickly discovered that the extension backup feature is not nearly ready for real world use. But it is clearly labeled as experimental, so one can't fault it for not working all that well at the moment. The backup made without extensions worked fine, however. MozBackup worked so well that it has earned a spot in my regular backup routine.
According to the MozBackup site, the program works with Firefox 1.0 - 2.0 Alpha 1, Thunderbird 1.0 - 1.5.0.x, SeaMonkey 1.0a - 1.0.x, Mozilla Suite 1.7 - 1.7.x, and Netscape 7.x.
