allSnap -- Make Windows Snap to Other Windows

Posted on Wednesday, May 24, 2006 at 8:30 PM by Randall

Many people like how windows automatically align in some program such as Winamp and some versions of Photoshop. allSnap is a small freeware desktop enhancement that makes almost all top level windows snap to each other when they get within a set distance. If you keep a lot of windows open on your desktop (and you do not maximize them), you will want to try this program. You will either hate it or wonder how you manage to live without it for so long. It runs in the sysyem tray, doesn't take muich memory and just works. The instructions from the web site are simple:

* Once run, all windows will snap to each other and the desktop while moving/sizing.
* Hold down ALT while sizing/moving to toggle off snapping.
* Click on the little icon [in the system tray] to change the settings.

While it does "just work," if you click icon the little icon in the system tray, you will find there are a number of options to play with.
