Food Force -- A Hunger Fighting Simulation Game

I love simulation games. Actually, old simulation games as I pick up most of my games years after they come out from the $5 bin at Big Lots. So Food Force, a freeware simulation game, where you a sent in to a starving nation to end to end its hunger problems. Designed as a educational game for the United Nations World Food Programme, Food Fight is an educational game -- the web site even comes with ways teachers can use the game in the classroom. The game revolves around a hunger crisis on the imaginary island of Sheylan in the Indian Ocean. You have six missions to accomplish, each of which requires somewhat different skills. The game is fun and educational. It is also very professionally done.

A major crisis has developed in the Indian Ocean, on the island of Sheylan. We’re sending in a new team to step up the World Food Programme’s presence there and help feed millions of hungry people.
As team rookie you have six missions to complete. Each mission represents a part of the process of delivering food aid to an area in crisis. The final mission shows you how food aid can help people rebuild their lives in the years following a disaster.
Mission 1: Air Surveillance
Pilot a helicopter over a crisis zone in Sheylan to locate the hungry.Mission 2: Energy Pacs
Within your budget, create a good balanced diet for the local population in Sheylan.Mission 3: Air Drop
Drop food from the air if at first you lack cheaper routes into Sheylan.Mission 4: Locate and Dispatch
Buy food and transport it to Sheylan as quickly and cheaply as you can.Mission 5: Food Run
Guide a convoy of trucks safely to a WFP feeding centre in Sheylan. The trip won't be easy.Mission 6: Future Farming
Distribute food aid within a Sheylanese community to help the residents rebuild.
