PureText -- Paste Text Without the Formatting
Posted on Tuesday, March 07, 2006 at 8:51 PM by Randall
Chances are it has happened to you. You've copied some text from a web browser or a word processor and pasted it into another program only to get all the fancy text formatting when all you wanted was the text. PureText is a simple program that solves this problem. You just copy whatever you want to the clipboard, click on the PureText tray icon, and then paste to the other application. Only the text is pasted, all the unwanted formatting is gone. If this is too much work, you can configure a hot key which will convert the clipboard to plain text and paste it for you. Note that PureText only removes text formatting. It does not fix word wrap, clean up line endings, or the like, but it does what it does well. It's very simple -- and very useful.
