GIMPShop -- The GIMP Made User-Friendly

You've probably heard of the powerful open source graphics program, The GIMP. It's a powerful program that tries hard to duplicate the power of Photoshop. How close it comes to that is the subject of heated debate, but one thing most people who have tried The GIMP agree on is that the interface is something only its designer could love. To most people, The GIMP's interface is clunky and hard to use.
One of the advantages of open source software is that if you don't like it and have some coding skills, you can always change it to suit yourself. That's what Scott Moschella has done with GIMPShop. GIMPShop is all the graphic power of The GIMP wrapped in a more friendly to the average user interface -- an interface designed to resemble Photoshop. GIMPShop is described as follows on its web site: "The menu structure and terminology are adapted to to [sic] look and feel more like Photoshop, and other adjustments were made to make the GIMP more usable. In the Windows version, the Deweirdifyer Plugin has been used to place all of the various windows into one nesting window, so it will act more like a single program than multiple little programs. Also the menu structure and terminology are adapted to to look and feel more like Photoshop."
GIMPShop is The GIMP made usable for normal mortals.
