Software Gadgets

The Software Gadgets blog lists interesting programs and online services for your computer — some free, some shareware, and some commercial. This blog started out listing Windows programs but expanded to include Linux programs in 2008 after the author, Randall Stukey, switched his system from Windows XP (running Ubuntu 7.04 in a VMWare virtual machine) to Ubuntu 7.10 running Windows XP in a VirtualBox virtual machine in late 2007. VirtualBox is running in seamless mode so Linux and Windows programs appear on the same desktop.

The Software Gadgets blog started out a few years ago using Thingamablog to generate the blog. Late in 2006, Software Gadgets switched to Wordpress. All the old Thingamablog posts are still available, however.
