Custom Folder — New Folder Done Right (Discovery)

Do you have a number of “New Folder” or “New Folder ##” (where ## is some number) scattered about your hard drive from times when you create a new folder with Windows Explorer’s context menu but were too lazy to give the folder a meaningful name? If so, Custom Folder can help.

From the Custom Folder web page:

This handy utility adds a highly customisable “New Folder” function to the context menu to the Windows Explorer. Using a single dialogue to manage user-defined templates, Custom Folder facilitates the creation of custom dated and time-stamped folders and even deals with incremental naming in case there is already a sub-folder with the same name. Custom Folder offers fully customisable options for creating your custom folder name.

Unfortunately, this program won’t read your mind and name the folder exactly what you want, but it will let you set up a number of options that are all more meaningful than “New Folder” and allow you to select the one you want from a drop down box.
